Our manning policy is to protect people, property and the environment by selecting and training safety-conscious seafarers.
Selection follows the STCW Convention, MLC 2006 and the ISM Code, with a long-term approach to human resources. Every crew member joins with the training and qualifications the position requires.

We believe a strong training programme is the key to lasting success. Training includes video and computer-based courses on our training platform.
Officers take an online assessment during recruitment and complete a training programme before joining. Training needs are reviewed through audits and superintendent reports. We also invest in cadets, the future officers of our fleet.

Miklagard-S Ship Management SA, headquartered in Istanbul, specializes in technical and crew management for chemical and product tankers on a global scale.
The company was founded in 2019 by RFOcean’s Mr. Frederik Rye-Florentz and Mr. Tayfun Bozoğlu, building on a long legacy in chemical tanker management.
Our team brings experience in ship construction, having overseen chemical and oil tanker newbuildings from 3,500 to 20,000 DWT, in stainless steel and coated designs. We manage vessels trading mainly across Europe, Canada and the US.

Integrity, Passion and Safety
The name
Viking sailors who reached Istanbul moored in the Golden Horn. It was the largest city they had ever seen, protected by long walls on land and a chain across the harbour, with the Hippodrome and Hagia Sophia at its heart. They called it Miklagard, the Great City. Today the city is Istanbul, where our company is based.
Objectives and mission
